Autumn Brand is a classically trained violinist of 25 years. She is also skilled by way of original composition, songwriting, pop music arrangement, teaching, performance, improvisation, vocal performance, and music production.
She loves to teach children and adults who are interested in all styles of music, and has a passion for sharing her love for the violin and music in general.
Autumn is an award-winning composer, songwriter, and violinist. Currently, she plays violin, writes, and sings lead in the Raleigh based Americana band The One Eighties. In her last band, New Reveille, she was signed to the record label Loud & Proud where she recorded with grammy-winning producer Ben Fowler. She has won numerous awards for her musical talents and has been featured for her musical work in Rolling Stone, Billboard, CMT, WRAL, WUNC, WKNC, Periscope, News & Observer, INDY, Oak City Sessions, SOFAR Sound, Raleigh Television Network, and First Night Raleigh.
As well as being part of numerous ensembles Autumn studied Music Composition at Central Washington University after joining the Orange County HS of the Arts advanced instrumental music program where she performed for the OC Chamber Ensemble, String Ensemble, and performed with the IMSO under the baton of Christopher Russell. She has played in numerous honors orchestras since her youth, string orchestras, symphony orchestras, string quartets, trios, and duos. She has played violin with the Raleigh Civic Chamber Ensemble, the Raleigh Civic Symphony, and is the founder of Petals String Duo, and the Carolina String Society. She has studied with renown violinists Gene Wie of the Southern California Chamber Orchestra, Concertmaster Carol Chung of the NC Opera and NC Symphony, and Callum Smart of The Royal Northern College of Music in the UK.
