Elementary School
Serving children 1st through 5th grade.
We are pleased to be a part of the community of independent schools who offer special services to children who may be struggling in their current school setting. Lucy Daniels Elementary School serves a population of academically capable children who are experiencing emotional and/or behavioral difficulties that interfere with their school success and their interpersonal relationships.
Our goal is to support children as they develop their own repertoire of internal controls, build academic and social motivation, and master the capacity to tackle challenging situations with confidence and character. About our Elementary School
Our elementary school classrooms, grades one to five, are staffed by a teacher and teacher assistant. Class sizes are typically 10 or fewer students. The elementary classroom provides a supportive environment and an academically sound program that includes art, physical education, and music.
Lucy Daniels School uses the Core Standards as guides for instruction, and end-of-grade testing is conducted at the end of the third- and fifth-grade years. When indicated, individual therapy is provided on-site during school hours by clinicians in the Center’s Family Guidance Service.
The elementary school operates on a traditional school calendar (mid-August to mid-June). School hours are 8:30 am – 3:00 pm. Check out our complete academic calendar here!
