Lydia Walker is a current Bachelor of Social Work and Design student at North Carolina State University. She is passionate about clinical mental health treatment, exploring creative treatment options for youth, and the integration of nature into therapeutic practices. Currently, Lydia is completing her Certificate of Mastery in Horticulture Therapy through North Carolina State University’s Extension Gardener Program. She plans to graduate in May of 2024 and pursue a Master of Social Work to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in child development.

Why Intern for LDC?

Lucy Daniels Center offers a holistic approach to childhood healing, which is something that I’ve always held close to me. The opportunity to work in their Healing and Enrichment Garden feeds both my spirit and career goals of pursuing creative/ alternative treatment opportunities in the mental health field.
