Marilyn Farrell is the Lead Program Consultant at The Lucy Daniels Center. Marilyn currently serves as mental health consultant for 23 Early Head Start/Head Start centers. In this role, she provides early childhood mental health consultation to program staff and families around issues of adult and child mental health, toxic stress, culturally responsiveness, preventing and managing children’s challenging behavior, and strengthening families by promoting protective factors. Marilyn is a Certified Psychoanalytic Educator and trained as a Parent and Master Classroom facilitator in Circle of Security. She has a B.S. in Early Childhood Education and has worked in the Early Childhood field for over 30 years. She is currently seeking her graduate degree in Early Childhood Leadership, Policy, and Advocacy at the University of North Carolina Wilmington to advance advocacy for policies that can transform systems to ensure that North Carolina’s children and families can thrive.
