Deidra has a well-rounded and diverse background in the field of Child Development, which spans over 19 years, where she has served in various roles throughout her career as an Early Childhood Educator, Program Director and Early Intervention Service Coordinator (Infant Toddler Family Specialist). She received both her MS in Child Development (Human Development and Family Studies) and BA in Child Development (Child Development and Family Studies) from North Carolina Central University, as well an Associate in Early Childhood Education from Durham Technical Community. Deidra is currently working toward her second graduate degree in Developmental Psychology.

Deidra’s most recent role prior to joining The Lucy Daniels Center was an Early Intervention Service Coordinator, where she worked closely with children, their families, and a multi-disciplinary team to address various childhood developmental delays and disabilities. Deidra brings much passion to the field of Child Development as she is committed to enriching the lives of children and working with families and colleagues to address all areas of development and provide resources within the community to meet the child and family’s needs.
