BSW, Meredith College

Blakely Barker is a senior social work intern from Meredith College. She will complete her BSW and will graduate on May 13th, 2023. She will then continue her education at Virginia Commonwealth University to earn her MSW and become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Blakely has a deep passion for working with kids and Lucy Daniels Center has had a huge impact on her life. She hopes to move back to North Carolina in the future and work as a licensed clinical social worker in the classroom at LDC.

Why Intern for LDC?

It has been absolutely incredible and life changing to work here at Lucy Daniels Center. My passion for kids has only grown and the things I have learned here are extensive! I had never heard of Lucy Daniels Center before coming here and it is truly a hidden gem. I will dearly miss it, but I will always make efforts to come back and visit, and hopefully work here in the future.
